MERRY CHRISTMAS
more importantly good health
and bid farewell to 2008
Welcome 2009
Life is not all about work and making money. There is no life without good health, and my key principle in life is to stay healthy and enjoy the utmost of things that come along. I encourage friends that I know to do whatever form of outdoor exercise that they like to stay healthy. For me, running and mountain trekking is one way to challenge myself all the time and see how far I can go, and on top of it stay healthy.
The shortest day of the year – the winter solstice – is called Dōng Zhì in Mandarin Chinese and has special meaning in the traditional Chinese calendar.
Dōng Zhì is the day when families get together and eat tāng yuán, a sweet soup made of glutinous rice balls. It is also the day when everyone becomes one year older.
I celebrated Guo Tung today with my family. Immediately after the photo taking session at the Malakoff 12k race this morning and after passing all the shoe orders to interested runners, I rush to the market to buy some glutinous rice dough to make Tang Yuan.
After reaching home the whole family actually got together and get onto making the tang yuan and each of us in the family ate a bowl before adjourning for lunch. And we are all one year older from tomorrow onwards.
